The Starting Point

The search for true life begins with the universe in which we live.  No doubt, the universe exists.  You can see it and scientists know more about it today than ever before.  It is enormous, estimated to be 93 billion light years in diameter.  Some studies have concluded that the universe has 2 trillion galaxies and each one is estimated to have up to 100 billion stars like our sun.  Though scientists have been searching, there are no known planets around any of these suns that have human life, except Earth.

How did the universe come to be?

Cosmic experts theorize it started with what scientists call the Big Bang, an explosion of matter that set everything in motion, resulting in everything we see today.  What has not been answered is – who set everything in motion; who made the universe possible?

Interestingly, scientists have identified 30-40% of the matter comprising the universe, its mass.  But they still have not identified the remaining 60-70% of the matter in the universe, an energy force they know exists throughout the universe, but cannot be seen.  It is an energy force that holds everything together.

We believe that energy force is God, the One who created the universe and everything in it.

We believe the universe did not just appear out of the vacuum of space.  There is an intelligent Superior Being who engineered it and maintains it.  This is where faith begins.

The Basis of All Life

The key point in a search for true life centers on acknowledging that there is a God.  Just as you cannot see the wind nor the energy force of the universe with your physical eyes, you cannot see God with your natural eyes (I John 4:12).  But, just as you see the impact the wind makes (bending trees, shrubs, and other objects), God’s impact is perceived in created things and changed lives.  God exists and the moment you open your heart in faith, God will become real to you through spiritual eyes.

You do not have to see the wind to believe it is real.

In the same way, you do not have to see God with your physical eyes to believe in divine existence.  You just need to see the results and acknowledge, by faith, that God exists (Hebrews 11:6).

Human Life

The all-powerful God of the universe created human life a long time ago.  How long ago may be debated, but it happened with certainty.  We are part of it!  The Bible, which we believe is divinely inspired and without error, indicates that the first humans, recorded in the Bible as Adam and Eve, had true life.

They walked with God and knew God’s presence all the time (Genesis 3:8-9).

Not only was their life abundant and true, it was eternal.  It had no end; it was everlasting.  This was possible because God created them with a physical body (flesh and blood), a soul (emotions and feelings), and a spirit (the dimension of their being that truly connected them with God and provided them life eternal).  Unfortunately, they failed to obey the simple guidelines God gave them for life (Genesis 3:1-7).  This is called SIN.  As a result, their immortality ended.  They became spiritually dead, disconnected from God in spirit because of their disobedience (Genesis 3:12-19).  They had lost true life.  Each of us, even today, shares that fallen condition.  But we do not have to stay that way.

God's Plan of Salvation

The first large section of the Bible called the Old Testament describes the spiritual lostness and depravity of Adam and Eve and their many descendants. It details a long history of disobedience and sin. Despite that and because of God’s love for his human creation, a rescue plan was put in place by God to restore true life – the plan of salvation.

In order for humans to be fully reconciled, God came to this earth in the bodily form of Jesus of Nazareth.

Most will not argue that Jesus existed. What many dispute is whether he is the Son of God, whether he is divine. Jesus said he was (Matthew 26:63-64) and we are certain he is! The plan of salvation is simply this – a sacrifice for sin was needed. Jesus was that sacrifice. Jesus died on a cross to take away the sin of every human being, including you. You do not need to earn it; there is no way you can. There is no way to inherit it from any of your family members.

Glorious True Life

The second section of the Bible called the New Testament, tells about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.  After Jesus died on a cross for all of humanity, he ascended into a realm of the universe that is known as heaven, from which he will appear again someday.  The Bible shares how you can find salvation, how to be reconciled to God, and how you can have true, eternal life.

If you confess your sin (something we all possess) and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior through faith, you will join the millions of people over the centuries who have found true life, walked with God, and knew God’s presence all the time (Genesis 3:8-9).

God’s Spirit will make your spirit come to life.  You will become keenly aware of the presence of God and will begin to live a new and beautiful true life empowered by God’s Spirit.  Not only that, but you will have life eternal.  Even when your physical life ends here on earth, you will immediately be in heaven in the presence of God and others who have found true life.  Life will continue forever like it did for the thief on the Cross crucified beside Jesus, to whom Jesus said, “. . today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43).

Making True Life yours

Friend, do you acknowledge sin in your life?  Sin is a burden.  It is a heavy load as you probably know, but you do not have to continue to carry that load.  If you confess your sin, God will forgive you and lift the burden.

The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

One of the New Testament writers, a man by the name of Paul, expanded on those words and made it clear how to have true life.  Writing to Christian believers in the city of Rome, Paul  said, if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10).  Do you believe God raised Jesus from the dead?  Even if you are not sure, are you willing to accept it by faith and then declare that Jesus is Lord?

True Life, Right Now.

If you have been unable to find true life through any other means, you can have it now …right at this very moment.

You can do as countless millions of people before you have done:

We invite you to pray this simple prayer out loud:

God, I know that I am a sinner. I confess my sins. I turn away from them and turn toward you.
God, I believe, by faith, that Jesus was crucified for my sins and rose from the dead by your miraculous power.
God, I declare with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and open my heart to follow you and have true life!
